CITY OF FRANKENMUTH CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE FOR AN AMENDMENT

CREATE CHAPTER 81 SOCIAL DISTRICTS OF TITLE VII

  TAKE NOTICE that the Frankenmuth City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the Meeting Chambers in the Frankenmuth City & Township Government Center, 240 W. Genesee Street, Frankenmuth, Michigan, for the purpose of reviewing said ordinance amendment and hearing any objections thereto. The proposed amendment is as follows:

Creation of Chapter 81. Social Districts, 7.811 Definitions, 7.812 Allowable Activities and Restrictions, 7.813 Violations; Penalties & 7.814 Miscellaneous.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the full text of the ordinance is available for review during normal office hours at Frankenmuth City, City Township Government Center, 240 W. Genesee Street, Frankenmuth, MI 48734. The full text of the ordinance is also available on the Frankenmuth City website under Clerk’s Department.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that immediately following this public hearing the City Council expects to take action to approve or modify the proposed ordinance amendment or to table the proposed amendment for further study and analysis. If the amendment is approved at the May 7, 2024, Council meeting, it will be published in the following paper and will become effective twenty (20) days following the publication.

Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes

April 9, 2024

     Supervisor Reinbold called the meeting to order at 7:30pm with all board members present.      

   Huber moved to approve the March regular meeting minutes as presented.  Bierlein supported.  Motion carried.     

  Supervisor – Cheboygaining Creek will have berm repair, tree removal, sand bar removal, and erosion repair the Fall of 2026.

Road Advisory – worksheets for 2024/2025 road work have been turned in to County Road Commission.

Construction Code Group -  Permits for March included 1 Building and 4 Electrical.    

Zoning – submitted report.

Code Enforcement – submitted report.  

Planning Commission – meeting will be held April 15, 2024. 

Fire Chief – runs for March included 1 Assist and 4 MFR.   Training was Fit Testing/ SCBA and Ladders/ Ventilation/Glucose Meters.

There are a few issues with the dual activations with Reese that are being worked on.

Assessor/Board of Review – will be retiring May 31, 2024. 

Treasurer – settlement with the County went well. 

Trustee – Huber reported MMWA is offering a bagster program.  Units are 4x8x30in.  To find out more about this program and all Special Collection Dates, please see our website, www.blumfieldtwp.org and click on Services.

  UNFINISHED BUSINESS:   

The Board has requested the Fire Department add Ken Huber to the Fire Truck committee. 

  NEW BUSINESS:   

Roethlisberger moved to approve the Road Maintenance Millage Renewal be placed on the August Ballot.  Daenzer supported.  Motion carried. 

Reinbold moved to pass Resolution 2024-01, Battery Storage System Moratorium.  Daenzer supported.  Motion carried. 

Reinbold to request Planning Commission begin working on an ordinance. 

Reinbold moved to designate the ARPA funds toward a new fire truck.  Bierlein supported.  Motion carried with Daenzer abstaining. 

Huber moved to award the Lawn Maintenance contract to RB Mowing for 2024/2025.  Bierlein supported.  Motion carried. 

Huber moved to approve presented check register 27117 - 27124, payroll, and monthly EFT’s.  Bierlein supported.  Motion carried.     

The next regular meeting of the Blumfield Township Board of Trustees will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 7:30pm at the Blumfield Township Office.        

Reinbold moved to adjourn meeting at 8:35pm.   Roethlisberger supported.  Motion carried.
