FHA stays home, hires Seeley as executive director

  The Frankenmuth Historical Association has a new executive director, and the board of directors did not have to look far for its new leader.

  Nathan Seeley, who has been with the FHA since September 2020, has been chosen the new director. He is replacing Heidi Chapman, who took over this position from Jon Webb, who moved on the Castle Museum of Saginaw County in a similar position.

  Chapman is stepping away to care for three children and husband Mike.

  “Heidi’s tenure was a successful one for the FHA and the museum. She oversaw a major exhibit upgrade and sale of the Lager Mill. Both were key projects that she handled beautifully,” FHA President Matt Curtis said. “She was always open to suggestions and guidance from the board of directors and always had a can-do attitude. Heidi was a team player who had the best interest of the FHA at heart, and while we are sorry to see her go, we are happy that she can spend more time with her growing family.”

  Seeley first started his employment as the museum’s director of events, exhibits, and education, and moved into the collections manager & curator in July 2024, when Malcom Cottle left that position.

  “Nathan has seen nearly all positions that the FHA offers, and has been instrumental in nearly all projects that the FHA has taken on over the past four-and-a-half years,” Chapman said. "Between his strong work ethic and obvious passion for Frankenmuth history, I can see no one better suited to take the position and ensure a seamless transition from director to director.” .....
