PINCONNING INVITATIONAL WINNERS
The Frankenmuth High School junior varsity volleyball team took first place at the Pinconning Invitational this past Saturday, finishing undefeated with a 6-0 record. The team swept through pool play competing against Genesee (25-17, 25-21), Coleman (25-12, 25-15), and Ogemaw Heights (25-8, 25-17). After earning the overall first place tournament seeding, the Eagles matched-up against Farwell High (25-4, 25-12) in quarter-finals, and next Alpena (25-19, 25-17) in the semi-finals. In Finals of the Gold, the JV girls encountered Beaverton High School, and prevailed (25-16, 25-20). The young team presented power AND teamwork throughout the entire day which led them to their success. The completion of this invitational brings their current overall record to 19-4-3. The JV Volleyball team travels to Essexville Garber High today (Sept. 18) for their second conference match, and finishes off the week with the annual Birch Run Subway Slam Tourney on Saturday.
