Frankenmuth Community Foundation

FCF grants benefit schools

Frankenmuth schools were the beneficiaries of the Frankenmuth Community Foundation funds earlier this month.

The FCF Board of Governors met February 18 and among its decisions was a $7,290 grant for AEDs and other equipment for four school buildings.

At St. Lorenz Lutheran School, a total of $1,420 was given for one unit outside the school’s Learning Center. The total includes one AED, batteries and pads, PED pads, a case and a wall cabinet.

List Elementary School also received $1,420 for a similar package, to be located on the north side of the building.

Rittmueller Middle School will have a unit placed in a wall cabinet outside the gym, for a total of $1,350.

Frankenmuth High School will receive a pair of AEDs, one placed in the middle of the building near the cafeteria and a second one outside the counselor’s office, for a total of $2,700.

An additional $400 was given for an AED training unit.

The FCF also approved $2,000 for the Frankenmuth Community Education’s production of “Once Upon A Mattress” musical. The funding paid for licensing and royalties for the two shows.

The FCF and Palmer Foundation also presented St. Lorenz and Frankenmuth School District with two checks each for $9,120 for the third and final commitment for their technology initiative.

The Board of Governors is led by President John Webb and Governors Julie Gafkay, Nancy Haskin, Tim Hildner, Dennis Krafft, Karen Zehnder, W. Don Zehnder, Bob Zeilinger and Scott Zimmer as well as Executive Director Stephen C. List.
